It was formed in 1873.

It was named either M. C. Keith of North Platte, whose grandson Keith Neville became Nebraska's 18th governor in 1917 or John Keith, also of North Platte.

Keith County Public Records

Then again, to obtain a record copy, residents must also pay a fee. First copies of birth records cost $17. Death certificates in Keith County will set a person back $16 for a first copy. Marriage records in Keith County cost $16 for the first copy.

NOTE - There are a number of rules that must be followed in order for Keith County requesters to obtain records. Keith County requesters must attain records between 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. If a requester wishes to get hold of documents, they must bring some form of photo identification.
