Howard County Information

It was founded in 1871.

It was named after Civil War General Oliver Otis Howard. He was a career United States Army officer and a Union general in the American Civil War.

NOTE - If an individual wants to obtain records face-to-face, they must follow various rules in Howard County. Howard County requesters must purchase records between 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Photo ID is needed to get records in Howard County.
