Then again, to obtain a record copy, residents must also pay a fee. First copies of birth records cost $17. Death certificates in Dakota County will set a person back $16 for a first copy. Dakota County marriage records cost $16 per first copy.

NOTE - If an individual would like to obtain records face-to-face, they must adhere to a variety of rules in Dakota County. Dakota County residents must purchase records between 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. To attain records in Dakota County, photo identification is needed.
